Hello.

With some difficulty - actually a lot of difficulty - I have created a 'generic' RT4 VMware image. If the author or anybody else with a website is interested in putting up this image (and cleaning it up a bit to make webmin and other stuff work the same as this VM image), please let me know.

Simply let me know where to upload the copy that I made.

It's running on Ubuntu server and it's pretty barebones otherwise.

You run the VM Player, and go to the URL and there you have RT. That's about it.

Let me know,

Salman

I'm pretty sure sample config files exist in the references I gave. I'm confused about your question. I just followed the examples.

If you don't want to use a catchall then this article isn't for you. This article simply details how to combat reverse NDR attacks using a catch-all mailbox to prevent bouncebacks leaving your mail server. The beauty of the catch-all agent I reference is that it doesn't override real addresses on your domain.

Basically, if the real address isn't found, the system will deliver to the catch all address. If the catch all address goes to a distribution list with no members, the message pretty much vanishes.

To be honest, it's been a while since I've had to implement this for anybody since most people find it simpler to just disable NDRs altogether.

I have a quick question, what did you use for your config.xml file. I am looking at this and I don't want to use a catchall for my domain.

BTW great workup.

There is VMWare player for windows which is free. Search for it on www.vmware.com. If you're running a windows server, there's a server based version of VMWare that can run VMs as processes. Lastly, if you have a machine you can dedicate, then you can download VMWare ESXi server which is it's own OS.

I'm not familiar with Lotus Domino server, but my guess is that it may not require the domain prefixing the username when logging in. The "domain\\username" example I put in the file applies mainly to Exchange.

For Domino, just put the username/password in exactly as you do in your outlook pop3 configuration.
